About the visit of Rita Segato to our university,
I'm going to write about her.
She is a feminist anthropologist,
born on August 14, 1951, in Argentina.
After finishing her PhD studies, she became
a professor at the University of Brasilia.
there begins with his studies of gender
violence, moving later to Ciudad Juarez.
The vast majority of their works talk about
the patriarchal structure, making visible,
apart from the gender,
race and social
class in Latin America, as a colonial and
oppression mark. Some of his most
recognized works are "The elementary
structures of violence",
"The nation and its others", "The
writing on the body of the
murdered women in Ciudad Juárez",
"The new forms of war and the body of
women" and
"Build strategies to eradicate gender violence"
Regarding my interest in her, I am impressed not only by her ability to analyze
patriarchy, but also by her emphasis on the community, her perseverance and
the tenacity and authenticity of her struggle
