Why did I choose anthropology?

When I was a child, I  don´t really care about careers or my future, like the most of kids. I just wanted to be a pirate. Years later, when I was in high school my interest about history took me to research possible careers, back then I knew about sociology, anthropology, literature and philosophy. I always have a preference for anthropology and that was my final decision. 

I think my experience until now as anthropology student has been very chaotic, because new questions arise frequently about possibilities of being and work. About the kind of work that I would like to have, I think I prefer a work which I can be around a community, especially with a group of women or girls, where I could listen, understand and learn about them. 

A small autobiography

Hello everyone! My name is Pamela Medel, I was born in Santiago and I'm 23 years old.

I'm the oldest of a typical family with three daughters, my two sisters are Natalia and Susana, and we live with our parents in a house located in Estación Central. Until I was 11 years old I studied in a catholic elementary school called "Colegio Holanda", where I frequently practiced cheerleader and rhythmic gymnastics, I also had a lot of animals and great experiences with them, these were: dogs, cats, hamsters, earth turtles, guinea pigs, birds and one snake. Later, when I was 12 years old I had joined to "Liceo 1", a high school in the center of Santiago, which I still hate. I just appreciate meeting my great friends, Valentina y Gloria. Then, since I was around 14 years old I thought about study anthropology and about 3 years ago I entered this university.
